Canadian Broadcasting Corporation In September 1997, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) awarded a contract for the provision of the facilities management, real estate management, and project management services of all the company’s owned and leased office spaces, studios, warehouses, and special-purpose structures to SNC-Lavalin O&M. This included the CBC’s French Network and the lease administration of the CBC-Radio-Canada International News Bureau.

The key parameters of this contract are zero critical equipment failures and the maintenance of the company’s broadcast signal. SNC-Lavalin O&M’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is utilized to schedule all preventive and routine maintenance across the country; eliminating unwanted outages. Electrical and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are maintained by SNC-Lavalin O&M in support of the CBC Broadcast System. Office and building services – such as janitorial, security, mail, courier, reprographics, stores, shipping and receiving, transportation, and waste management services – are all provided by our company. Our project management activities include capital budget planning, space planning, overall management of design and modifications to the buildings, and the provision of occupancy services. The real estate portion of this contract includes activities such as acquisitions and dispositions, lease renewal and termination, overall lease administration, and landlord and tenant services.
